The alum properties were already known since several millenniums before
Jesus Christ, it is even stated it in an Egyptian papyrus. In the
course of the centuries its uses were diverse: vine growing, textile
industry, clarification of liquids, cosmetics.
It is in the respect for this mineral that for more than 50 years
Laboratory OSMA tries
hard to offer to its customers a product of an irreproachable
quality.
It is this objective which urge Laboratories
OSMA to work a potash alum of natural origin which
confers on the alum stone ; besides its astringent
and soothing effects ; hypoallergenic properties
allowing it to be convenient for any types of skins.
It is still through this quality step and from the information requirement
of its customers that Laboratory OSMA
chose a natural potash alum to produce their haemostatic pencils in
order to be in correspondence with the System of Quality assurance
for the Production and this control authorizes the
European marking IT 0459, appropriate for the medical devices.
Thanks to this mastering stage after stage production of its finished
products on alum base, Laboratories
OSMA guarantees to the public a 100% natural alum.
Important
notes :
The use of the potash alum in cutaneous application makes the
indication of no remark concerning a possible toxicity in all
the interrogated serious data bases. No study of cutaneous penetration
is available on the man, nevertheless, the pharmacovigilance
realized for more than 2000 years on the subject seems to bring
a concrete contrary proof. The bound contribution has the use
of the alum in daily aluminium contribution can be considered
as insignificant and its transcutaneous passage also.
The contribution of the aluminium in the Alzheimer's disease
is a problem which we can assimilate on no account to that of
the alum use because the contribution of aluminium by this way
is completely unimportant with regard to the other sources;
food, respiratory.
The risks connected to the use of the alum stone in cutaneous
application are unfounded fact.
